alarm remote is stuffed
« on: Jan 10, 2003, 05:38AM »
well it was bound to happen cause it was playing up majorly, and a couple days ago, just the day i installed my stereo, the remote control for the car alarm stopped working. So now i don't have remote central locking but more importantly no alarm.

My question is: is there any way that you extract the frequency my alarm works on (it isn't rolling code) and re-program it into another remote?

I would get the jaycar one where you put it 5cm apart and program it, but the old one doesnt work at all..

If not then i'll by a new alarm for $120 or so from jaycar and install it myself; can't be that hard seeing as the wiring is already there.

My mate knows someone who can extract the alarm frequency from the unit itself in Adelaide somewhere - I'm not sure what's involved but I'll ask him about it if u like.   :)

By the way both of my remotes are wearing out as well so what's the go with that Jayco programmable one and where can I get it?
