2.25" or 2.5"
« on: Nov 21, 2008, 07:59AM »
hey guys, i know this is a very debatable topic, and there are probly many different opinions on the matter, but im wondering, i have a 2" pipe from the cat back with a 2" muffler and i need to get a new resonater. So i was thinking maybe i should just get 2.5" piping from the extracters all the way back to a new 2.5" muffler, then i was thinking about getting a new magna flow cat for better airflow. But i went to carline mufflers and he was telling me that there wouldnt be enough back pressure in a 2.5" and he said that im better off going a 2.25" but then he said u wont get much power gain from just 0.25" size increase in the piping. so my question is, if i just go get 2.5" piping and there isnt enough back pressure, will i be losing power?? because if i wont be losing much power i might as well just get the 2.5" piping and see what happens, what do u guys reckon??

if its ka24e, get a 2.5.. we have dyno sheets somewhere on the forums that shows you dont start losing power until you get above 3"

just make sure its muffled nicely.
