judging by the modifications that you've already done, my advice is - Don't. It is obviously not a racing setup - you've got a stereo and no rollcage. If you're going anything over the speed limit, it's against the law. 180 on public roads is stupid and dangerous enough.

i do the eastern creek wednesday night fun sessions with a couple of mates... not all the time, been 3 times in the last 6 months but want to get back there, rollcages arent essential, but gotta have 5 point harness + neck support and racing suit, its not essential for me to do it but its embarrasing toping out at 180 on the straight

i would never..... ever.... ever.... attempt 180+ on a highway, ive lost too many mates to that shit...

its a setting on the ecu, it has nothing to do with the dash.

also i didnt think the aussie u12's had a speed limiter anyway, only the japanese ones? or is yours an import?

either way, a daughterboard and some chips or a nistune board and someone that knows how to tune will be able to remove the limiter.

well i feel at home in my bluey, its my cup of tea, i had a factory manual vk v6 which was good...ish... excellent condition with the brockey kit which i used to take there a bit, in the end it was too unrealiable to do it, its not about the times to me, more to sedate my driving around the streets, unleash on the track, cruze on the streets!!!

i can tell you that the Aussie U13 doesn't have any kind of speed limiter built into it.
You might might to check out what ecu repairs were done.
And Do a ECU reset, could help.

Also while theres talk about limits what exactly is the RPM redline ? And the cut off ?

Does it shut off or just not rev any more?

I don't know about U13's, but AU Falcon limiter goes like this. 178,179,180 - Fuel injectors cut back to idle, transmission disengages, and everything spins back up at 175.

If you're just not pulling any more, that suggests that you're probably going as hard as it can.

problem solved..... some dodgy bastard mocked up a ecu from a 300zx and chucked it in there..... it was done actually smartly as it was all soldered good, molex plug adaptors, terminals were sheaved, etc... i ended up going to pick and palyess and picked up the ecu i should have and it cost me 10 bucks plus swapping the other one.... it goes better now!!!!

well yer.... i would of taken photos if it was any interest.... the wrecker seemed to be admiant that i had been sold a dud car, a "cut job" but it doesnt have weld marks and doesnt crab walk or anything, the chip was missing some "Mosphets" (the spot had been soldered up) or something around and a few new wires had been run to MAF and other stuff?? im guessing air flow..... im a noob to this so got a second opinion and they said it was too dodgy to keep, would have been good if it was done right.... but the car is way better with the new chip.... its lost a mean as lag at ~2600 rpm, replaced with a slighter one at ~2200 rpm

if its any consellation, the case it was in wasnt square, wierdly shaped....

Did you check all the VIN and engine numbers and im not sure of what your state offerers

If you can post some quality photos or have a look at other U13s and try and look for a difference in appearance of body panels, their fit, the seals and gaps.
If you have the pdf that has the U13 info it, theres a link on antrx for it somewhere ( PM me and ill send you the chapter). Then in the " Body And Trim" section theres an alignment diagram. that will help to see if the cars been 1/2 and re-welded.

cheers mate, i know it has had been resprayed, colours match well, jst has more "orange peel" in places, the bumpers are a bit out but i have had most of the interior out and nothing caught my eye..... and also had  a revs check done at the time ( my mate at the time bought a stolen car, wasnt going to risk it, even tho its from a dealer)..... but if u had those specs that would be good, then i can find out why..
