Cannon Exhaust
« on: Sep 27, 2008, 11:45PM »
hi Guys, today i bought a cannon, its a 4 1/2 or 5" tip and 3 inches on the back? what do you guys think on how well it will run/work? im not changing the rest of the exhaust atm.

thank guys.  :) :)

NEW QUESTION: my cannon is fairly big, with a 4-5 inch tip and 3" on the back...its not installed yet and im running a stock exhaust system...will it be loud or quiet? thanks

He is asking you for the intake size on the cannon. not the size of your exhaust.

Only if it is sucking in cold air. If it is sucking in warm air from the engine bay you will lose power. If you dont set up the pod properly to get cold air you are better off with the stock setup.

No, but your not gunna get gain any power by adding a cannon, that's why everyone is suggesting a pod filter.

pod filter is under the hood, unless you're wanting to increase performance it won't deeply affect you, seeing as your just going for the cannon and not a full exhaust system i wouldn't worry too much about it

the 2.4 should have the 2inch exhaust

Hes not asking the size of his exhaust, he is asking what size was the intake pipe on your cannon. As in the opposite end to the tip. It has to have an intake size and the exhaust shop will just use an adaptor to make it the same size as your exhaust.

1: will i lose any power?
I dont think it would be noticeable if you did.

2: how loud will my cannon be running a stock exhaust system?
Every exhaust is different. When i just removed my old rear muffler and whacked a cannon on, i was 7dB over the legal limit at 2500rpm, and it was fairly loud. But yes, you wont know until you put it on.

mine came as a perfect 2inch intake matched straight up to my exhaust welded my own on  ;D
