« on: Dec 3, 2003, 09:53PM »
My Trx wont rev over 2500 somtimes when i driving it stops for a little while after i restart the car but starts again pretty randomly
It's a good way of saving fuel i spose
Anyone else had this problem?
I know it's something to with my management system sensors

it probably isnt anything to do with the speedo.. its called limp home mode, the ecu switches to a fail safe mode where you can not take the engine over 2500rpm in the ka24e and 1800rpm in the ca20e, this is usually because a sensor of some kind has died. most common sensor to cause this is the air temp sensor, especially if you've fitted a pod filter.

yeah - do a diagnostic check on your ECU... on the KA it takes all of 5 minutes and it'll tell you the problem

the ECU codes and how to do this is in the FAQ section.

Shit, 1800rpm limit in the CA20E in limp home mode  :-\

Stuff that.  Now that my 2.4 tacho works (thanks to aussie-gli) it has become obvious to me that the car makes fuck all power below 3000rpm.  I don't think I could get up some of the hills around my area...  ::)

Sounds MAF related. When i was installing the SMT6 and i had some of the fuel limits set too low the car would refuse to rev past a certain point.

I got a recon lsd gear box put in recenty so that explains the speedo i check all the connections and it works now
I pulled out all the sensor connections and put them back in and i haven't had a problem since
Thanks for the advice. ;D
