blowing the fuse to my gauges...
« on: Mar 24, 2003, 09:18AM »

i've blown the fuse to my gauges 5 times in just over a week, (its labeled "meter 1" in the fuse box. refer to the schematic in the faq section) and then the car goes into limp home mode. (the rev limiter is set at 2500rpm) any ideas as to why this is happening??

Dont u have some neons wired up on your dash??  if the fuse is blowing u're either pulling too much current, or u've got a loose wire somewhere which is shorting....
Lisa: Dad, we did something very bad! Homer: Did you wreck the car? Bart: No. Homer: Did you raise the dead? Lisa: Yes. Homer: But the car's okay? Bart & Lisa: Uh-huh. Homer: All right then.

check your fusable links (under the bonnet) for corrosion.

also Fred does not install unichips.

Tim from electronic automotive does, he supplies, fits, & tunes all in house, including dynotuning.

i'll give you his address & ph Numbers later. (cant find them) but i'm seeing him tomorrow.
by the way there not cheap 8).

regards roger.

for those that might be interested, i reset my ecu the other day for a reason other than the gauges, and the gauges havent blown since.. its probably just a conincedence, but that is what happened.
