R31 Pintara TR.X
« on: Jan 10, 2006, 11:08AM »
Hey everyone, i just came back from taking my girlfriend to an appointment at the royal womens hospital, where I saw for the first time ever an R31 Pintara TR.X!?!? WTF? I talked to the guy who owns it. He's from sydney and only had it for a week. He was going to buy a U12 but came across this gem and snapped it up quick smart.. and its RWD!!. I'm spewing i returned my sisters digital cam yesterday coz this thing was like nothing i've seen before complete with full bodykit. Has anyone else seen any of these floating around? or does anyone know any spec's about them? release dates? production numbers?

.:James:.

they were sold in the last 3-6 months of the r31 pintara's life to try and spur on some last minute sales, as far as i can figure they were only ever available in white.

engine wise they had the ca20e. not sure about other specs but i think they had better suspension than the standard models.

there used to be an ad for it on the r31 club but its dissapeared.

Don't get worked up over it Stu, we have the goods in the style dept. with our U12's. I think it actually looked quite shit, too square. But it was different, which is why it stood out like dogs balls so credit for being rare and thats all!!

haha, fair enough... i'm only interested because i've decided that i love and want to own all that is TRX, so now i've got a new one to look for on my list.  so now i want r31 pintara trx, u12 pintara trx, bluebird trx (old school), honda TRX (both the motorcycle and quad bike)..

its a magazine spread waiting to happen!

Is there such a thing as a U11 Bluebird TR.X? or did they stop after the 910's and before the R31's?

well thats different for an r31 pinny. front bumper is a bit of a let down from the side view. I wonder how the interior and handling compares.

edit: I just realised the first pic and second pic have different front bars.

there are no longer any links to that image on the r31 club site.. trx2nv didnt claim it as his own picture.. and the pic of the r31 trx on the street didnt belong to the r31 club originally anyway.. so really, i dont see the point in complaining.

I was thinking tyhe same thing...wouldn't it have a greater chance of being:
A/Nissan Australia's
B/Nissan's Advertising Agency
C/What ever magazine that ad appeared in...

Rather than the person/organsation that copied it.

fiery little bunch, aren't we!

I never made any reference to the image of "the car on the street"?

they were sold in the last 3-6 months of the r31 pintara's life to try and spur on some last minute sales, as far as i can figure they were only ever available in white.

there used to be an ad for it on the r31 club but its dissapeared.

The TRX advert is still on the site, in the "magazine articles" section, and the "R31" section, which shows all the different models.

The TRX was available in colours other than white, I've seen a red one getting around the south east.

TRX was just an optional kit for the GXE pintara.
Mags, body kit, and stickers, but otherwise it was just a GXE with pretty bits.

I saw a white 1 about a month back on the M1 on the gold coast. I pulled up next to it and was like "what the F*ck is that". I thought it was just some r31 pintara gone rice but i had a look at the back front and sides and thought that it might b for real. I was gona post seeing it on this site but forgot. I will keep my eye out tho. I like the look of em. I saw fooy to those who think the r31 is "too square"!

The front bumper on that car is missing the skirt, that's why it looks a little odd.

The red ones were only available in two tone red/grey, same as the Skyline Silhouette.

Saw a red R31 'line last night in the carpark under the exhibition centre (melb motor show).

It had an R31 TR.X kit fitted to it.  Didn't look very good... wasn't horrible, but yeah... just a bit funny looking.

I wouldn't know but from what I have heard the R31-TRX was nothing but a body kit... which is what SKY-031 was saying. To me, the R31 TRX body kit is far sexier than the R31 GTS body and as such very relevant to R31 Pintara owners.

only if you think its shit, a car is what its owner makes of it, if you like it then thats all that matters, and if we were to make a decision we would need more than name and distance traveled to determine if it was any good

Lol.. Shit i didnt realise i had to treat my car like my baby girl haha

Well of course its gorgous if its my baby ;)  (is that ur school photo?)

Okay well its never been crashed, had two owners and we treated it with all the respect it needed. I had a mechanic friend looking after it for the duration so regular services. Like she been in a garage half er life but that was part of intensive relaxation therapy, so she's a pretty happy gal. Then occasionally u met the odd ass who wants to knife your car. so she has one or two scars, some dick also chucked a beer bottle at it. Random Teenage boys. But you know scars tell a story make u tougher ;) She loved early mornings at Canberra in the frost, her engine running wild, I'd scrape the ice from her.. Although Cold we stayed well away from rust til this last year in Sydney. She spend some time in the mountains but always stayed home on the big 4wd cruises around the mountain's edge and countryside. So she has a lot of adrenline in her to go do things beyond her dreams which i havnt let her do, being a female. Mess with her she may blow up in your face, but she will always be their for you and she listens to orders, likes to be dominated. lol enough info?
