U12 idle issues
« on: Mar 6, 2012, 12:04PM »
Hey guys, new u12 has some funky idling issues, start the car and it idles on 800rpm than a minute later drops to 400rpm, than 300rpm, really surprised it doesn't stall, also, running super rich, almost like fuel is coming straight out the back...

I would double check all hoses, timing and your iac valve. If you can i would check it with consult also to see if there are any errors.

Cleaned both the temp sensor and the wire plug next to it, also changed my whole distributor over as mine was leaking and just took forever to start the car, it's mostly fine now, not running rich anymore but the idle rapidly drops and rises from 950 - 600 - 850 - 600 - 900 etc etc etc

Feels and sounds like its running lean now.... Next idea ? Timing ? Dirty throttle body ? Choke(I think its called)

I'd say check iac valve. Clean that up. Then we can put the consult on the car to check timing etc.

Looking at the engine from the front, it's bolted with 3(I think) allen key bolts to the left side of the intake. Unplug it and remove the iac valve. Give it a good clean with carby cleaner etc and put it back together. Make sure the gasket is good, otherwise replace it or use gasket goop.
