$38,000 is alot of money, but then again, any 764Kw engine will cost a bit, try getting an 750KW HKS RB26 or a 750KW Cosworth or Lambo Motor for that :P

the reason for the ford vs holden engines is that they are both australian produced.  sorry dude read it the wrong way i now see the true meaning behind it!  ;D

The holden V6 is a buick and the V8 a Chev. Both are made in USA. Both have 2 valves a cylinder and use pushrods (OHV). This is cutting-edge 1970's technology.

The new holden V6 is aussie produced and the falcon 182kw inline six is aussie produced (the falcon six is made down here in geelong and the holden V6 in adelaide).

bloody oath its cheap!!! when u take into consideration one of the new supercars being unveiled at the MotorShow anyway....

the new Koenisgsegg CCR supercar is a 4.7 litre supercharged V8 that puts out 601kw and does the 0-100km/h sprint in 3.2 seconds!!!  :o :o
it's all yours if u've got a lazy $1.25million bucks...... personally i'd prefer the ford - so i could keep the change for the petrol ;)

for $200k you could get a 1000hp triple turbo R33 skyline... it does 0-100km/h sprint in just 2.3 seconds!!!
so yeah its still looking cheap!
but spose you have to considder that to have this ford thing you would need a mother of a gearbox and drivetrain, so that is extra cost to the $38k

What does a base option BA with the XR6T motor cost, say $40k, if that? Spend the $38k on the engine, total $78k, plus another $4-6k on brakes, $3k on suspension, $5k on sticky tires and decent rims, so for a total of $90k you have one monster of a BA that will scare anyone. THAT is cheap performance of that magnitude in my books.

I know i'd rather take that option than spending $90k on a HSV or FPV product.

hey rake, u kno how u said that thing about the turbo timer.... there was a race a while back now with a toyota mr2 vs a suburu wrx, across australia, and they sat flat stick the whole way, or for as long as possible b4 breaks, and on the last leg, the turbo timer in the wrx was AUTOMATICALLY set to 40 mins......

There is no need to buy an XR6T motor as Nizpro: strip down, check the bores, remachine, add new manifolds rods, pistons and injectors etc...As long as it's a Barra 4.0 it's good...

BA XT : $35,000
Nizpro BA1000 : $38,000
Mal Wood T-56, Dual Plate Clutch and Beefed 3.73 LSD : $12,000
AP Racing 6/4 Spots with Thick Slotted Discs: $10,000
Full 'Whiteline' Coil-Over System and Ancillaries: $6,000
Forged 19's and Good Rubber : $7,000
Carbon Fibre Bonnet, Fiberglass Gaurds and General Lightening : $4,000
Random Assorted Tidying Up : $1,000

That $113,000, or Porsche Boxter money...

Would eat even an LS1 with a Starr Charger package as it has Go, Woah, Hadling, the lot...

Falconguy, i honestly wouldn't fork over $38k for Nizpro's engine, i would possibly buy their stronger crank, but i think that i could build that kind of engine for $25k. They've probably got a HUGE profit margin in that, like $8k.

Oh there's no doubt that there is a huge margin in that engine, and IF you could machine it all etc yourself you could do it alot cheaper, though, as the BA 4.0 does suffer ALOT from core shift, getting a good block to work on is pretty hard. One guy who I think will be getting one of these (currently the highest power XR6T in Aus@380rwkw) said Nizpro went through SIX blocks to get one with a good cast!!!!! That is included in the price of the Nizpro1000.

The work that goes into it includes: Big Motec, New Uber HiFlowed Turbo, All block truing and machining, head cleanup, valve springs, Billet Rods and crank and forged pistons, New Intake Manifold, Huge Intercooler, New Injectors.

As a side point...What would a 750KW engine cost from HKS or Tommy Kaira? Even Ford SVO or Chevvy Bowtie?

I'm guessing $45k+.
You know Nizpro farm out their machine work, because they don't have any of that gear in their workshop on barry st.

I didn't know that about Nizpro, I thought they did some work there? Maybe just mapping and all that?

APS also have some high power kits too. An APS stage three ran to 309Km/H! Thats about $11000 for 12.2@115 on street tyres!

The biggest trouble with the BA is that they are FAT, around 1800Kg and that alot of inertia to beat!
