U12 Relay ratings
« on: Oct 30, 2005, 02:40PM »
The relays in the u12 in the relay box seem to have no current rating stamped on them.

Im curious to see whether i can use spares of the blue and brown relays (brown switches two sets of pins, blue trips only one set of pins) for relaying my headlights, im wondering if anyone has an idea of the current rating on these standard u12 relays.

The fan relays are each obviously required to handle about 150 watts (per fan) , so thats approx 12 + A , id assume for that task they would be atleast good for 20...
The 90/100 bulbs will be handled by two relays , one for high beam and one for low. So one relay will handle 180 watts (15A) , and the the other 200 watts (17 A).

....... So if any one has any info on the ratings of the relays that would be awesome!
