U13 speaker questions
« on: Feb 5, 2007, 03:58PM »
Hi I was after some pointers on replacing the speakers in my recently purchased U13, 1995 SSS.
The current ones sounds like they have fallen apart.
I did see a link last week on how to get to the speakers but can no longer find it.
any help please.

For the rears, Remove the rear seat (Horizontal part of seat first, then the vertical part), then remove the parcel shelf.
In the front, you need to remove the door trims. There will be a couple of screws you need to find, then its just a matter of pulling the trim away from the door to undo all of the clips that hold it on, then sliding it upwards, then undoing any electrical connectors for electric windows etc.
That's all you need to do to get to the speakers.
Very simple, just get your tools out and give it a try.

This is the link for the rear speakers:

As for the front speakers just locate all the screws on the door trim and pull the door trim off gently.

Also with the fronts in the door trims you may need to sand down the molds in order to fit a new 5*7" speaker in there, as the magnet on a decent speaker will be a lot bigger than the stock speaker's magnet.
