Power Antenna
« on: Jan 8, 2009, 01:11PM »
Hi all. Ive searched through here and on the internet but couldnt find any info on removing/manually lifting the power antenna in my 94 SSS Bluebird.
Anyone have any info they can share? Im not sure on the status of the aerial motor, but easiest available solution is to manually pull up the aerial, ive looked around it though and cannot figure out how to do this. also i dont know how to remove the motor if that is what i need to do.
Thanks, Craig.

Yeah you would need to remove and dismantle the motor to wind the aerial up manually.

Why do you want to do that though? Have you put a new radio in and it no longer works? Or has it recently died.

You should be able to fit a universal manual antenna where the old one was.

The whole module has to be removed via the hidden compartment of the jack.  There should be 2 screws holding it in place.  I recommend using a big phillips screwdiver.  You also have to unscrew the cover on the top of the quarter panel where the antenna comes out.  Then refer to this thread about fixing the antenna:
