adjusting an aftermarket blow off valve
« on: Mar 14, 2006, 03:07PM »
Ive just purchased an APEXI twin chamber blow off valve from a mate of mine.

My question is how do you adjust this valve to ensure its doing its job properly.

its got an adjustment screw on the end, im not sure whether to screw it in our out. im running around 13-14psi of boost if that matters.
God gave man a brain and a penis and only enough blood to operate one at a time.

screwing it in and out adjusts the spring pressure on the inside
screw it in to tighten it (makes it harder to open) out to loosen it (makes it open with as little as a fart)
all depends on if you want it venting with 2 - 3 psi (easy driving) or tighter if you want it venting at higher inlet pressure.

as for "doing its job properly" bov's are wank factor only
i prefer in this order.....
1. not running one at all
2. plumback bov
3. atmo bov
Sometimes we just need to remember what the rules of life really are:
You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape
If it doesn't move and should, use WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use Duct Tape.
