swap the rails over.

don't be dodgy...seriously

i've heard people saying "oh the seats fine, the other 3 bolts are in tight, just the 4th one doesn't line up, it'll be ok...the rail will twist like you wouldn't beleive in an accident..

i mean, rails get damaged if not stuffed with ALL bolts holding it in from an accident.

now im not here to be a safety inspector, but i want to give you that little extra thing to think about before you put something dodgy in the car that isn't exactly the safest thing out there.

i've said this before, what if there was to be an accident and u had 3 bolts holding it down (not saying u will leave it with 3 bolts because u want to cut and weld but u may be like, CBF) the person ends up dead because the seat decided to break off and they end up going at windscreen, side window, pillars, dash, whatever. say they were to die, you end up in gaol buddy (not to mention the mercy of regret)

but yeah, i'd say swap rails or get the rail done by a pro.

With my seats I got a pro to cut and reweld my rails to get them to fit. Cut mounting points off stock seats and re-welded onto the r33 seats. Cost me $100 (mates rates though) incl. fitment.

I drove with my stock seats held on by 3 bolts and that was shocking. On de-celeration i could feel the seat move forward because it wasn't anchored properly. Baaaaad.

pedro mate,

im assuming j30 seats are going into a u12 ? correct ?

if so, are the rails from the current seats in the u12 fine ?

if so, unbolt them from the seat you are taking out and bolt them onto the j30 seat.

now, you may need to cut some brackets off the seat and drill some holes to put a bolt through, etc.

best thing, take pictures of the base of the j30 seat with the rail on and then rail off and then put the u12 rail next to the base of the j30 seat and take another picture (for comparison)

we can then help you further.

ya they're going in a u12... but the issue i think with swapping the rails is the j30 seats are electric. but will have a better look on the week end.

man, i dont know for sure but i think j30 seats just bolt up...same rails and everything u just need to run a power line to the battery somehow for the electric part to work.... i remember hiro saying something about it a while back? do the rails even look remotely the same?

I think 3 holes line up, the bolts near the centre 'hump' of the car don't line up.

Power is one wire, we ran a wire and 15A fuse off the back of the fuse box to the seat, seems to work fine.
