the reason why we get gay homsoexual [swearing filters own me] models here is that australia is too small a market, therefor the japanese companies can only expect to send a small percentage of their vehicles here. thus a small percentage must be made to australian specification, and because its a lower run the cost is higher per unit, and we dont get any good features without paying through the ass for them. snot fair
theres so many SiKk'u'LeH!! models here that we SHOULD get in australia, but thats the bad luck of being on a continent with only 21 million people.
i also dont think it was solely the fault of the pinnie that nissan fell into financial crisis back in the day. at the time, the whole company was being poorly managed; not just the australian arm. it was almost like what is happening to mitsubishi now, except nissan dragged themselves out of it. they ceased domestic production with the pulsar in 91 i think - i remember when the pulsar plant was shut down, on centre road in springvale victoria - you other vic blokes might remember too. it was kinda sad. but in a more positive light, at least nissan is still around
whereas, a lot of my friends here tip that mitsubishi wont be around long enough to honour the 5 year warranties they are offering on their cars
in fact, without the EVO, they would be gone by now..... sad.
