Title: Standard Double Din Stereo?? MP3 ??

I just bought my girlfriend a pimpin new U13 yesterday. I'm lovin the whole standard stereo look in there, but the problem is, because it's 15 years old the CD's skip all the time and because it japanese it wont pick up FM radio. So I was looking at putting a double din stereo in it out of say a late model patrol or something like that but would be very interested if anyone knew whether I could get one that can play MP3's. Even better would be if I could get an in dash 6 stacker with MP3. I'm sure there's probably a car out there with that sort of thing as a standard system. Hoping someone has seen one.

later model commodores, falcons would, as long as they arent curved (not too sure, been a while since ive been in one).

cruise through the falcoon forums etc and see what they say

Falcon's dont use the standard Din size, so they wont fit. But I've been doing a bit of looking around... seems most toyotas have a double din stereo... the latest landcruisers and corolla's have exactly what I'm looking for, so I'll try to pick 1 of them up cheap.

There is a couple of brands like pioneer and kenwood releasing double din head units again if you're interested, however they don't exactly look stock and they might be a tad more than what you would want to pay. here's an example anyway...

I just got a U13 LX single din sunglasses holder and I'm going to get a single DIN radio once I get back from thailand to replace the double DIN cd player.

New Toyota faceplates are bigger than standard din, so you'd have to cut the hole in the dash out bigger to fit it.

I'm pretty sure Nissan has a standard single din mp3 player, and Suzuki has a double din mp3 player.

nissan has a double din 6 stack in dash cd player in the v35 skylines and i guess of other cars of the same age.

Ti xtrails have a similar 6 stacker in-dash cd player, but not mp3.

come to think of it, hyundai have a mp3 player too
