Just a quick question on the video. The wheelies happens when the bloke is accelerating, not when he's downshifting or up shifting right? If so, how many road bikes can actually do that? Just curious that's all as I never owned a bike.
Quite a few. The problem is putting so much power on one wheel that has unbelievable traction. Think most 1000s run about 130Kw+, and weigh well under 200K. Some weigh in the 170K range. Combine that with 13,000rpm and a lot of tourque, and up she goes. The R1 without the turbo already has enough torque to pop the wheel in almost any gear, even at 140Ks. I've witnessed it.
The SP-1 which was the other bike, is a much easier bike to through around and control. R1s aren't very forgiving around corners under power. A bit like putting your foot down on a 250Kw rear wheel drive around a corner. Only bikes are harder to drift.
