silo has a bug help pls
« on: Apr 15, 2005, 03:14PM »
As usual i have just spent more money on the car so as usual it is playing up. I have just got iming belt and water pump replaced by mechanic and put in a set of plugs.

I didnt drive it after putting the plugs in but i started it and a gut feeling it was running noticeably rougher.

After getting all the other shite done it just didnt feel right. Today it stalled on idle (never does this) and was running hell rougher. Also got low fuel and stop tail warning lights come on????THe volts meter was also shooting all over the shop???

Seems fine when driving though??? Any thoughts
                       cheers Matt

you might wanna post at r31skylineclub fporum too...they would be able to answer pretty well I'd say.

To me it sounds like you haven't tightened the plugs in properly you goose.

I have posted there but i was trying to support R31 section at antrx coz it is quite poor if anyone hasnt noticed. I tightened em up pretty well.I will double check tomorrow.

How the hell would this make the low fuel and tailight warning lights come on?

I thought it could be electrical as something could have been disturbed when all the work was done on it???

with my pos ca20e, if u knock a distributer lead too much, it idels rough and occasionally stalls, u just giv it a jiggle and its all sweet. it actually does sound like an electrical issue though.i dont know too much about the rb so im not much help here unfortunatly

Actually was 60bucks i am not that pov ;D. Ended up that when they put the timing belt they didnt even adjust the friggin timing and it was pinging shitloads when i had a passenger on the cruise. Was actually missing a cover from the front of the engine with the timing mark and the mechanic didnt mention this. This shits me. We retarded the timing a shitload and now it runs waaaay better and idles notixceably smoother so there ya go.

I realise your only new...but its a good idea to check dates of threads and also weather or not the issues have been resolved before you bring old threads back to life...by all means if you have suggestions and what not then comment but sometimes you can cop a spray for thread digging.

Calm damn man...i was just giving a friendly heads up. If you read the thread the issue was resolved.

If someone offers advice dont arc up...cause you just made yourself sound like a fucken knob.

Thats fine matt but as i said it was a friendly heads up....as thread digging in whatever sections seems to set some people off.
