Pintara vibration on Drive and Stopped.
« on: Mar 17, 2006, 12:07PM »
My pinni vibrates pretty badly when I chuck her into Drive or one of the forward gears.
Reverse vibrates, but not so bad.  When I start moving the vibration disappears.

Is this a gearbox problem? Or something has worn out?

She cruises pretty well, but sometimes vibrate around 100km/h or there abouts.

Cheers,
Vinny.

sounds like when its in gear, its not idling properly... do an ECU reset and see how it goes...
I'm sick of my knob going all floppy and loose in my hand  :P

Your engine mounts might be buggered aswell

i got the same problem mate. bonnet rattles like a mofo, only when its cold. IMO it has occured more as the timing chain sounds have become more evident. does your car ever clunk when u chuck it into reverse on a hill or something? I also have that problem with my car. how do you tell if engine mounts are shagged?

If you get a mate to sit in the car with their foot on the brake and shift from reverse to drive and back again, watch the engine and see if it moves alot, say 2-3 inches either way when it goes into gear. If it moves that much your engine mounts are stuffed

hmm i find that believeable without getting a mate to help test it. is it easy to order the whole thing from an auto shop or do i have to do some fancy diy?

I believe you can still get new engine mounts from Repco and other auto parts places.
