Compression
« on: Jan 24, 2004, 02:47AM »
Would i expect a dramatic increase in performance if i jumped my compression on my KA24e from 8.6:1 to 10:1? If so i'm going to do it in a few months and order your reground camshaft.
Just fall......AND DONT GET UP!!

heh...didn't even see this topic!
Anyway, yes you will see a fair bit more power going to 10:1 compression as long as you have the mods to accompany it, ie cams, good exhaust/extractors, CAI, some headwork (mainly 3 angle valve job and match porting to the intake manifold). A decent piggyback or reprogrammed ECU will be needed to suit your new mods. Don't skimp out on fuel either, run premium all the time....

Most notably apart from a power increase you will feel the car will be more responsive, even moreso if you get the bottom end balanced.
