« on: Mar 3, 2007, 07:36AM »
Hi all,
Just found that on of the factory driving lights seems to have blown.
on a quick look the Right side one doesn't seem to have much room around it to get to the back . are there any tricks for access?

Cheers

Ok
found the mount points 2 bolts on the inside (to-wards the center)  of the car,
Once undone they side to the center and the slide off a pin on the guard side of the car.

However, the unit appears sealed. the black retaining thing at the back of the light doesn't seem to rotate.

Thanks
Chris

They can be a little hard to get to.

Just undo the bold holding the coolant bottle in place, lift it up and move it above the extractors (make sure they are cool and keep the bottle upright)

Then undo the big black nut on the back of the headlight cover (might be hard as the plastic has sealed, use a bit of muscle). You will need to use bit of force to get it around the air con pipes.

Remove black rubber and unhook the bulb, you will need to put a bit of pressure on it and bend it under the aircon pipes. Now remove blub (make sure you dont touch the glass on the new one).

Ive done it this was like 5-6 times and works everytime.

Fog lights or head lights?

Sounds like you're talking about the head lights Tommy.

Why? They are fog lights and do absolutely nothing for your night time vision.
You also probably don't realise how bright these lights actually are and that you are blinding all the other drivers as you go past them on the road.
And in most states of Australia it is illegal to use them unless you are actually driving in foggy conditions...
