I think that this is correct, but can someone confirm that the following configuration will be a good fit for the U13?

16X7
43 offset

sounds about right... i wouldnt let the offset get any larger though...

Has anyone put 18's on their U13? If so, what offset did you go with, and what width?

I don't know of anyone with 18's but from my playing with suspension and wheels, Id say 18's would fit with rolled guards and about a 7in width 7.5 might fit but I wouldn't risk it offsets I wouldn't know but id be more concerned with inner guard rubbing than outer. My Lx's standard wheels were rubbing on hard cornering at the front inner guards after lowering with d2's. My Attesa's wheels are 17x7 and they had ware marks on the inner guard when I bought them, that was with 45 profile tyres and lowered by kings springs and standard struts. Now it has d2's and 40 profile tyres and theres no rubbing at all. d2's are set to around the same height as the kings.

When your shopping for wheels you have to take into account, amount your going to lower your car, stiffness of springs/shocks, swaybar/strutbar (how much it tightens up the car and prevents body roll) even chamber can effectively impact wether it rubs or not. As well as these you have to look at what you have already mentioned diameter, width, offest not to mention tyre profile. Driving youdo will affect it to, if you drive normaly you can proberly get away with big wheels that would rub if you realy pushed it around corners.

The fronts are what you'll have to work around the back wheel arches have heeps of area I doubt you would get any rubbing around there unless you totally dump the suspension.

Also iv herd of some Americans putting 19's on a Altima (bluebird). You might be able to remove plastic bits in the front of the car to prevent a bit of rubbing I don't know.

Anyway good luck, also check out www.altimas.net you might find the info you need there.

Thanks for he info guys.

After talking to the guys I bought the wheels off I went and bought the tyres and got them fitted.

18" 225/40 profile. They fit fine. I havent noticed any rubbing or scrubbing yet, although the rear tyres are quite close to the gaurd. I got a bit worried when I first saw it but drove it last night and seemed to be ok. I havent heard any scraping from the front during turns but it did look close, will investigate it a bit more today. I have D2's aswell so it has been lowered a bit. You can notice how much the front is higher now with the bigger wheels.

Will get some pics up soon!

Ok, after a bit more driving, I have scrubbed a few times on the rear left gaurd. I might have to get them rolled or at least get the height checked on them as I found it odd to only have hit on that one side...

I got 18x8s with 235's and slammed on coilovers and have no problems with scrubbing anywhere even with full car load of people.  I have had the 18's on my car for 3 years now never had a problem with scrubbing and I have been through three full sets of suspension (pedders aka crap,  whiteline, D2's now)  what camber are you running in the front and rear of your car that might be an issue.   How bad is it scrubbing ???

Oh it only scrubs occasionally when hitting a bump at higher speeds (like highway). And it only seems to hit on the rear left... I checked the damping on the rear coilovers and they are the same so not sure whats doing.

Not sure what the camber is, it isnt a lot though.

I don't know where it's rubbing... By the sounds of it it might be the inside of the gaurd on the plastic cover. Will have to take the wheel off to see exactly what is hitting it, but I don't actually think its the outer gaurd as I can't see any wear on the tyre.

I might also adjust the damping a little harder and see if that can fix it.

Check out the area where your rear bumper wraps around into the wheel well too, since I rolled my guards that's the only place my wheels scrape on my U12.

Found it... It's the mud flap! Just at the top of it near the screw, the plastic has rubbed down a bit. I am just going to shave some of it off, only problem is the screw sticks out a little so may be trouble.

Just glad it isn't anything major!

Yeah but if I take them off, the paint under it looks different to the car so will look crappy... I shaved a bit off but it still scraped last night on the highway :(

I took mine off my old LX and the paint under didn't look different, there was a slight line of black gunk but that cleaned off with some water and car cleaning product and when you take them off there is like about 3kg of dirt behind them, well thatsat the front.

PS can you post some pics id like to see the wheels on the car.

Smallest res my camera has is 1.5mp, and I had to reduce them a little to get to this size too. Much more and the pics turn out boxy...

Desperatly needing new tyres. Do to flat spots and outer shoulders wearing excessivly fast. Yes camber is getting fixed
So i decided to invest in rims - Gram lights 57 Pro's
Found a set but the fitment guide is confusing me. see http://www.gramlights.com/wheels/57pro/fitment2.html

Going with the 17x7JJ ____ 4/114.3 PCD. its the 3 columns ( DISK, STANDARD OFFSET and CUSTOM OFFSET) inbetween i dont know about.
Someone mentioned a 35mm offset but where does that fit in ?
Is this the correct option ? B(33)     +40(36.0)     +45(31.0) ~ +33(43.0)

Thanks

I think you want the Disk B +40 offset one, although i'm not 100% on that. Just tell them you want the wheels for an s13 silvia (same offset afaik)

btw freakin' sexy wheels :D what colour you going for?

The lenso's i had on NIZ #1 were 17x7's, and were off a 180sx. i think the offset was +38. So i'd say the +40's would be the way to go.
