red would just look try hard anyway imo. Silver would look good if you can make it look like genuine chrome. go for it. I have a white car, will be doing mine white....hard to clean you say....oh well, water blast them once a week.

IMO the colour you paint your calipers totally depends on the colour of your car as well as your rims size and colour.

Mine are painted jet black to work with a white car and chrome rims.

you could always get a second set of calipers and get them professionally polished. It would probably cost around $100 just to get them polished though. Not sure on the pricing of 2nd hand calipers.

I'd colour-code brake calipers with the body. Looks good that way.

Unless your car is a very plain colour like white.

I was told by everywhere i went in perth that white paint for calipers was near impossible because of the high temp affecting the paint.
Or maybe i just spoke to a lot of toss pots....

The white paint would discolor very quickly.

Looks good, but not sure how much of a good idea it is getting paint on the discs.

Not sure, i just read somewhere and said to try not get paint on the discs, didnt really say why. I took mine off when i did them, much easier to clean and paint.

i just dont see how a layer of paint on ur disc will effect ur brakes, i mean thinka bout the amount of pressure fromt he brake pads being applied to the rotor... dont think paint will do much

Couldn't you have at LEAST covered up the rotors before you painted the calipers?!?! :o

I'd be stripping that paint off quicksmart, if the efficiancy of your brakes are greatly hampered or they're prevented from workign altogether, your car, your life and that of others around you could be in serious danger!!

Brake pads and rotors are the two primary surfaces which make brakes work!! I would NOT think it's OK to let anything coat them!

as i said b4, the pressure from the brakes being applied would strip the paint off, i dont think a mere coating of paint would stop brakes from working properly, think about the PHYSICS of it.... a mate of mine took my car for a drive on sunday and he said how damn good my brakes are for a 15 yr old car..... i did cover most of the rotor up thou

i seen it done, just go for a drive round the block and the paint will be gone. It wont affect brake performance after 1 or 2 stops.
you can get out of a ukrainian prison for 2 packs of marlbro and a bottle of vodka....

Shouldn't be a problem with the paint, although it's easy enough to clean them with thinners, in regards to the heat problem with the paint flaking off you can get heat proof caliper paint although i don't really like using it, it's very much like enamal and takes days to dry and if you use a pad that has alot of dust like bendix ultimates they will be covered in no time ... i use the caliper paint for the first coats and use normal paint for the other coats ... 2 years on and still no problems ! ...

VHT caliper paint works fine. I have done a set of calipers and rotor hubs and the paint has not deteriorated.

Yeah it's around somewhere, but seriously, how hard is it to roughly mask up the surrounding items you don't want painted?
