Charge Indicator/Oil Pressure Sensor Wire
« on: Oct 10, 2006, 02:39PM »
I've just installed a remote start car alarm.  I do however require to connect a wire from the alarm to the Charge Indicator/Oil Pressure Sensor on the car for the alarm to sense that the car is running.  According to the diagram is is supposed to be a positive signal, ie. not a GND.  Does anyone know where I can find this connection on a HNU13 Bluebird?  Thank you.

isn't the 'engine running' wire normally connected to the alternator? whats the allowable input voltages?

Take it from the back of the gauge cluster. Follow the tracks back from the bulb to the plug and wire it in there.

If you want a hand with it let me know, we could meet up on saturday if you want.

yeah i just had the same thing done with my new alarm

my auto elec mate just took out the guage cluster and tapped into the oil pressure wire on the harness
just be careful you get the right wire as we put it back together and found the harness was upside down and we tapped the wrong line...derrr
