The average turd contains more nutrients than the average third-world child recieves in a week.

And why do I get the feeling I'll be coming back here to see what other people have posted, only to be conned into posting again?
Title: Re: Read Me ladies and Gents
Post by: SAIUN on Nov 25, 2006, 05:50PM
Oh that's not fair. Once I post a reply it takes me straight back to this topic. From now on that doesn't count.
Title: Re: Read Me ladies and Gents
Post by: rathies on Nov 25, 2006, 05:57PM
ahh crap i did it again
Title: Re: Read Me ladies and Gents
Post by: Kranzy on Nov 25, 2006, 05:59PM
Oh that's not fair. Once I post a reply it takes me straight back to this topic. From now on that doesn't count.

I came back to post that exact same thing. It wont be very accurate because some peoples preferences they wont view a topic they have just posted in but some peoples will. So even though we reply the first time it will count as a view anyway.

So technically we would all have to keep replying and never leave this thread.

It would need to be interesting then.

Title: Re: Read Me ladies and Gents
Post by: hrmmmm on Nov 26, 2006, 06:52PM
Yes. That is the thing with posts like this, You feel the urge to post most likely something stupid just to see what other people say, you have a look to see the reply and bam you are forced to post and the cycle goes on.

A man was wanted for throwing bricks through jewelry store windows and making off with the loot. He was arrested last night after throwing a brick into a Plexiglas window...the brick bounced back, hit him in the head and knocked him cold until the police got there.

When Stan Caddell wanted to wash his Chevrolet, he backed the car into a foot of water in the Mississippi River at Hannibal, Missouri. When he got out to clean the car, it floated away. Police were able to retrieve the vehicle some distance downstream. According to an officer on the scene, no action would be taken against the driver because "you can't ticket a guy for being stupid..."

A lawyer defending a man accused of burglary tried this creative defense: "My client merely inserted his arm into the window and removed a few trifling articles. His arm is not himself, and I fail to see how you can punish the whole individual for an offense committed by his limb." "Well put," the judge replied. "Using your logic, I sentence the defendant's arm to one year's imprisonment. He can accompany it or not, as he chooses." The defendant smiled. With his lawyer's assistance he detached his artificial limb, laid it on the bench, and walked out.

Actually, apostrophes are only to denote ownership. Plurals never involve apostrophes. That's why people "Selling 1000's of DVD's" is sooo wrong it's almost funny... but not quite.

i don't see how that's so interesting. it's only natural it to pick out the best first then if that fails/runs out try for your second-best option? and your theory is fine except for the plants they shit on it whilst making the selection of what they will eat. then they wont eat it.  ;)

Here we go,

A man from Sydney Australia (possibly pringles) dropped his keys in a portable toilet became stuck in the facilities while trying to rescue them. He hollered for help for 45 minutes, and eventually children playing in a nearby field heard his cries and alerted their parents. Police were forced to demolish the portable toilet to extricate the man, who had been standing in the redolent muck without his shoes or pants for an hour and a half. Doctors treated him for cuts and bruises, and removed the toilet seat wedged around his hips. We speculate that his ego may never recover its original size.

Dismantle a disposable camera with a flash.

Charge it up, and attach two leads on both sides of the xenon flash tube. Grab one end with one hand, and touch the other!

WEEEEE!

If you want to take it a step further, get a daisy chain of ur mates, each holding hands (5 is a good number) and get each end to touch the contacts.

An excellent way to get charged before an exam, or, to pass the time.

 ;D

And dont be [language filter smackdown] about it, and just do it. Ive done it like a 100 times, and im fine.  :D

Apparently you can buy a twin turbo with intercooler upgrade kit that gives the car 450kw and propels it to 100Km/h in 3.8 seconds. Faster than a ferrari F430. Amazingly the kit only costs $8995. Despite this it is claimed and subsequently proven that the car remains perfectly driveable in any gear and at any revs. The twin turbo's are hidden under the car so you can't hear them and the blow off valve has been silenced. The 600mm intercooler is obviously in behind the front bar. Looks wise the car remains stock, so it is almost a 'sleeper'.

I got a feeling that this upgrade might void the warranty though.

Am I missing something but what do you mean to say by using the singular word 'correct'

all-righty, didn't think it would need an explaination but here we go:
By using the singular word 'correct' I was answering Jtas's question of "oi oi oi?"
Then, in order to assure Jtas that I was certain this was correct I decided to add a 'period' to the end.
THEN just to make sure everybody knew what I was talking about I quoted Jtas.

I hope it didn't confuse you too much.

If you have any further questions about anything at all please ask away :)

Then, in order to assure Jtas that I was certain that im not pregnant I decided to add a 'period' to the end.

how messy. but certainly a relief to you im sure.

(just for Aaron so there's no confusion - here the "word" "lmao" stands for Laughing My Ass Off and it is a common way of expressing that you find something funny over the internet, in this case thumbtack edited a quote of what I said to imply that I bled out of my vagina and made a mess)

I can make a tradesmans bandaid like I do when I cut myself at work. A bit of bog roll and some electrical tape. Works wonders.

Electrical tape on its own does the trick just fine, make sure you tape it tight so the circulation is cut off and it stops bleeding.  ::)

Remember, do not use tissues as the pack says, as my brother found out when u stick them up your nose to stop a nose bleed, or in jellyman's case (teehee jelly) in place of a tampon ;) it is inclined to dry up and get stuck eventually, resulting in tweezers up ye old nose if worst comes to worse. That or tissue up your nose until you get your next cold..

the meaning of life is to ask the question: whats the meaning of life. . .

or maybe thats the wrong question maybe we should be asking is there a meaning to life??

so what are you saying, all of us should always have a towel handy?
Title: Re: Read Me ladies and Gents
Post by: EliseVL86 on Dec 29, 2006, 06:55PM
Of course. Not just for those reasons though.

Everyone should always have a towel handy to use in emergencies. Such as if the llama accidentally takes a trip into the pool, just pull out the emergency towel to dry it off! Or if some crazy old lady starts trying to egg your car or something (haha don't laugh its happened to me) the emergency towel is ready for you to throw over her head, momentarily disorienting her, in which case you can lock her in a cage! Or something...

BBs cars alternator went rapidly down hill whilst on a short trip away and died in the a$$ 5 kms north of fckn no where. big public transport trip home and will need big public transport tip to pick it up tomorrow. Makes BB a saaaadd panda.

isn't it strange how quickly we change topic in this thread. We went from being 'in', to touching lightly ( 1 post) on the year so far and now to BB's car broken. On BB's car alternator being broken I think rathies has got one for sale in his 'rathies parts liquidation sale thread'. He says it is new never used not sure on price.
Good luck with car Bogan_Bob

On another unrelated note I just bought a genuine ford corsair sales brochure on ebay for $15. In mint condition, been sitting in someones draw for 17 years. It has 18 pages and two fold out posters and interior/exterior shots and the last two pages are dedicated to the optional extras. Down in Kyetone/victoria

Title: Re: Read Me ladies and Gents
Post by: Jono on Jan 4, 2007, 08:17PM
No, no they are not.

Windows XP SP2 is teh gay.

Installed it last night so I could get a USB 2.0 card working and everything is crashing now. MSN, Internet Exploder, Firefox, it seems anything that tries to use the internet crashes.
Title: Re: Read Me ladies and Gents
Post by: Kranzy on Jan 4, 2007, 08:55PM
Maybe try disabling the windows firewall.

See if that helps
Title: Re: Read Me ladies and Gents
Post by: Jono on Jan 4, 2007, 09:54PM
Yeah that's the first thing I tried. I uninstalled and reinstalled msn and that seems to work now, gotta do the same with Firefox and iTunes I guess.

Internet Exploder can stay like that, I never use it.

Oh and by 'crashing' I mean that error message that says "xxxxxxx has encountered a problem and needs to close. blah blah blah [Debug]   [Send Error Report] [Don't Send]"

But if i drag the error window off  the side of the screen and keep using the program everything works fine.

hrmmmm, my car had it's engine partially stripped once and the bodgy mechanic put silastic everywhere. Outside the engine, inside the engine around the oil pickup. This might explain my low oil pressure.

Had nothing else to post.

Police interrogated a suspect by placing a metal colander on his head and connecting it with wires to a photocopy machine. The message "He's lying" was placed in the copier, and police pressed the copy button each time they thought the suspect wasn't telling the truth. Believing the "lie detector" was working, the suspect confessed.

here's some interesting info i found.

http://www.zip.com.au/~psmith/Luminary.html (http://www.zip.com.au/~psmith/Luminary.html)

main point:

Quote

...the LM computer is probably comparable in speed to a pocket calculator...

...The LM and CM had identical computers on board, each the size of a shoe box. Each contained a total storage capacity of 36K of 14-bit words. This means total storage was roughly equal to the 64K bytes of a Commodore-64 computer. The LM's computer had a "memory cycle time" of 11.7 micro-seconds. However, virtually all CPU operations required at least 2 clock cycles making the effective memory cycle time 23.4 micro-seconds, i.e., it effectively ran at only about 43 kHz (0.043 MHz)!...

so not even a graphics calculator! just your run-of-the mill pocket calculator.

Darn right there are, I have been in hospitality for a very long time.
The most hated customers are School Teachers, Americans and Christians(mainly because they order twenty glasses of water one bowl of chips and move all your furniture).
Sorry if you are any of the above but ask any restaurant worker and you will get the same answer.
The best are usually Canadians unless you tell them they are American then your in trouble.

I work at an airport and the Americans are, guaranteed, always the loudest, for some reason they think everyone wants to know what they are saying!!

The Canadians can be loud too but are generally less obnoxious. They come from an American state anyways dont they  ;D

Do Sidchrome still have a lifetime guarantee.
Years ago (far to many to admit to ) A mate and i were stripping down a Mk5 Jag, some of the bolts were so tuff we were using a socket with a two foot extension bar and three foot of fencing pipe on the end of that.
We were averaging one trip a week to repco to replace broken sockets or ratchet handles, which they replaced with out a worry.
Now days i tend to forrage in the one buck a piece bin at cash converters.
Title: Re: Read Me ladies and Gents
Post by: hrmmmm on Jan 21, 2007, 10:17AM
Don't know if sidchrome still have a lifetime warranty.
I know KC TOOLS have a lifetime warranty on everything they manufacture. The warranty includes thing like handles on toolboxes and the ballbearing drawer slides.

I'm pretty sure Sidchrome do not have a lifetime guarantee.

Snap-on have a 'lifetime guarantee' but the 'life' of a snap-on tool is only 5 years, the length of time you claim depreciation on them on your tax return. But even so most dealers will replace them no questions asked.

Do Repco have a lifetime guarantee on their tools?

This has to be the longest lasting thread on the forums doesn't it? Oh, and the best for getting your post count up! ;)

Anyway, mmmmmm... cake. Dammit, I want cake now!

Oh, here, you might get a laugh out of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMH0bHeiRNg

Cheers, thanks for giving me an excuse to procrastinate for 10 mins  :D

lol. I dunno. America seems to have an ever increasing effect on our society, so why not?

What's the reasoning behind Halloween anyway? It's something to do with the supernatural. Witches, or something like that doesn't it?

don't you watch the simpsons? :P

I think the basic thing is that they give candy to the monsters (witches) so they don't eat their children :D

lol. fair enough.

Nope, I don't watch the Simpsons... Haven't really had time to watch TV this year and don't really spend much time watching TV anyway. Most shows are a bit lacking IMO. Bring back the Dukes of Hazard!  :D 8)

i dont think this is ever going to stop until le moderator locks it

who is the moderator of off-topic?
Title: Re: Read Me ladies and Gents
Post by: hrmmmm on Nov 23, 2007, 04:10PM
Hrmmmm, I don't think off topic has a moderator.  Maybe we should have a poll and make an off topic section moderator.
Title: Re: Read Me ladies and Gents

lol probably a good idea
Title: Re: Read Me ladies and Gents

Good idea whose goign to start the poll
Title: Re: Read Me ladies and Gents
Post by: hrmmmm on Nov 23, 2007, 06:23PM
Who will be the candidates, and how do you decide who should be one.
I nominate myself as a candidate for showing initiative and coming up with the idea. And maybe Ammerty for questioning why the off topic section doesn't have a mod. And Legend Killer to keep it intersting

Feel free to come up with other possible candidates.

I will start a poll in a new off topic thread.

I think there isnt a mdoerator in the offtopic section, because it is just that. You can be as off topic as you like, hence meaning there is SFA to moderate.
Title: Re: Read Me ladies and Gents
Post by: hrmmmm on Nov 23, 2007, 06:37PM
True, maybe we don't need someone to get us back off topic.
Title: Re: Read Me ladies and Gents

i guess ... only topics that are really bad need to be moderated i guess
