:) hi all...

i just trying to make sure i got this right..:)
in relation to engine mounts..

i talking ka24e engine...
autos have 3 mounts  and manuals 4 mounts...

i seen the top mount on both its on the side of the drivers ...at the very top...

i seen a mount on engine with a auto tranny...closer to the off drivers side..

i seen a rear mount on both auto and man on the cross member..

and i think i only seen a mount on the front of cross  meber for man only
and not auto's

so in all does that mean autos have 3  and manuals 4

if this is correct let me know ..:)

thanks

Spot on. The gearbox mount is different on the auto's versus the manuals.

thanks budgie....

does that mean you could place on a auto...4 if you used the front one off a man ..from the crossmember...
or it impossible to use a front auto coroosmener and fit the front one on it..
and you have to use a man crossmember to use it...if you get my driff...

:)....

thanks

The auto doesn't need that front crossmember mount as the engine doesn't experience the more violent movement that it would connected to a manual when the driver is on and off the throttle.

So yeah, don't bother putting it on an auto!

:) just thought i ask....

because i not seen an auto that has not got at least 1 defective engine mount
and i seen only a few manuals...and they have only ever had just 1 on the blink...

i remember saying in a post here i did not think more would hurt..and would prob help...
given the backlash and twist the 2.4 give there mounts..
but yes we got to factor in the cars are now 20 years old...
and heaps have been replaced with ones from wreckers...and not new

and today i checked to see how much they are...
nissan you got to order ex brisbane or japan...
and they only quoted 1 and it was 290 bucks...

i got a kelpro price from 1 place and it was
183 bucks for 1 mount mt8619
110 for  1  mount mt9663
62 for  1 mount mt 6593

when in stock they said..and they need to order....

i dont know the other mount id for man  and its price...
i am only concerned with auto i got to fix...at the moment..:)

and getting a replacement auto box in good condition for my other auto car to do up after i get this one going...
everyone wants over 500 bucks for that....alone :(

thanks

If your able to.. I would recommend Pm'ing "SSS" as he does polyurethane mounts for the KA. Basically you either send him your own or if he is able to, pay him extra and he can source some and he changes them to a solid state.

I got them on mine.. worthwhile investment (you will experience more vibrations as obviously the rubber is not there to absorb it).

Just some advice.

:-)
Ill fight you. May even throw a bar of soap your way. Maybe a few wax strips and some clip on brembo brake calipers for your fooly sic civic.
