Air Flow Mods

I've heard that you can get slightly better air flow through your Air Flow Meter by taking out the mesh.  Has anybody done this? has it made a difference?  I'd imagine the mesh is there to protect the element from damage, however, if your filter's working properly, there should be any reason to stress eh??  The mesh I'm talking about u can see in the attached pic.

Lisa: Dad, we did something very bad! Homer: Did you wreck the car? Bart: No. Homer: Did you raise the dead? Lisa: Yes. Homer: But the car's okay? Bart & Lisa: Uh-huh. Homer: All right then.

i'd asssume your right aussie_gli.. ka24e mafs dont have that mesh, and i checked my elements the other day & they looked like brand new  ;D

wouldnt the mesh be on the other side if it were to protect the elements? i.e. the airbox side of the maf?

check out your other thread, i have posted a pic of an oversized maf for the sr20/ka24e
