i would make it top mount just so i could have an excuse to get a scoop, lol, but im a dodgy bastard!! actually how do trx's look with a scoop?? i havent seen any, kinda curious. right now im all about looks while im saving up for a ka24de to install. then i will look into the big power side of things.

nothing wrong with a functional scoop. Just as long as its not the standard 'wrx' look alike item.

IMO something like a wider version of the GU Patrol bonnet scoop would suit the shape of the car.

i quite like the forrester sti scoop. I'm pretty sure its different to the wrx one. Maybe its the whole asthetics of the car that make it look different. Might be something to look into since it would actually be functional.

Its personal preference, and i had a mate photoshop a WRX scoop onto my car. If i had the picture i would post it for all to see. But be prepared to cop it if you have a bonnet scoop. Hahaha i copped it from Chris' brother at school just for mentioning scoop hehe :P

Maybe, i still prefer the clean look. If your going the scoop, you need a spoiler :P But thats just me.

WRX scoops on a U12 is homo-style... simple as that.
Get a scoop that was designed for the car :P

My brothers U12 has a scoop on it and we are gunna take it off, its gay. wrecks the whole look of the car. We are also gunna fix that gaping whole in the front bumper.

I think something more like a vent rather than a scoop would look better.
ie. think Hiro's got some nice looking ones.

OK guys heres the dodgy version get an old baking tray cut one end off and weld it on upside down. then paint if your going all out.

I made a custom and functional scoop in my U12 as you can see in my avatar, but my finish wanst that good, I have to retouch it and repaint the whole car, I'll post a bigger pic when I get home
I was thinking in changing the shape or some mod before repainting the car... any idea?

Its my car that got a Black scoop on it ;D . I dont give a @#$% if someone likes it or no . I like it n thats all about it. I gona paint it Red Soon. Sorry guyz if u think em a bit rude but i reckon a scoop loox good on a U12 but it should be a desent one !.

Those look like 13" wheels... the scoop is the size of a door... and that grill.... I dunno.

I dont see you posting your ideas and little projects to let other people see? So stop bagging him for doing something different. You may not like it, but if he does then its all good. And i think if the car was resprayed in a nice new finish and a few other little things done, it wouldnt look as bad as you make it out to be. Give him a break for standing out hey?

I have read ALOT of the site, i go through it every time i am on the internet. All i have seen is you "talking" about your engine, and bagging things. Be constructive and its fine, but all you do is bag him. "Whole car looks horrible" / "Ugliest scoop ever" / "Putting it nicely" .... Real cool.
Your engine is teh crapiest thing ever worked on, your taste is so shit. Putting it nicely.

to me, all u12's look ugly (aussie delivered ones) but once they are lowered with some NICE wheels... they look fucken sex.

I know that my wheels sux but it works just fine for now and I can burn some tires without worrying about the cost of a new set of tires, but yeah, it looks awful and doesnt have good grips.
Back on topic, that scoop was my first fiber glass project, all was done from scratch about 2 years ago, and I made it that size (width) because I wanted it to look part of the car and not like a glued aftermarket add on (dont know if i explained myself), maybe Im talking BS but that was my idea, and criticism are welcome.
Im going to respray the car, but first I want to know how to improve the look of the scoop or any other part of the car, so comments and criticisms are welcome

I actually reckon that looks good. On that colour is doesn't stand out too much for some reason. Pity the number plates in your state are bright yellow though!
Rather than a scoop, what do people think of the idea of small vents in the front corners of the bonnet? I've been thinking for some time about that and had the idea that letting fresh air circulate around the area where the air intake and air box are may help to stop them heating up so much... and you couls put one on the other side to make it symetrical. Don't know if it'd work though. Any comments??

man i so wanted to do a cardboard bodykit for fun. just so i could go over a speed hump and it would all fall off. But yeh effort comes into that.
I had a couple of mates litter my car with electrical tape one day when I left them for 20 minutes. that was pretty funny. Racing stripes up the side, big HKS decal all sorts of shiz. The marks are still on my bonnet too

I too like vents as opposed to a scoop. Sydney Special Vehicles have vents for early-mid 90's falcon's. (EL GT I think). They are functional/unfunctional depending on what you want. They have three area's? inlayed with silver mesh. They also have cosworth sierra vent's which I think would look good on the front corner's of the bonnet. Although I would like to see them done/photoshopped on before I got it done.

The only TRX I have seen with a scoop that looked any good was the 1 that appears on the front page every so often, that has the VK group A scoop in it.

yeah IMO its one of the nicest trx's ive seen. not sure what it looks like from any other angles though...
and on the topic of bonnet scoops... chris do you even have a bonnet or what?
