pinny has big probs!!!!
« on: Feb 3, 2004, 12:39PM »
gday all
the clutch in my pinny is only bout six months old and occasionaly (about once every few months) just as i start my car in the morning, i put my foot on the clutch and it makes this rubbing/grinding sound (car is not in gear).i take my foot off the clutch and the noise remains, so i kill the engine and start her up again, and it dosent do it. then it wont do it again for ages. then last week i was driving along shifting from 3rd into 4th, put it in 4th took my foot off and it didnt go in, like it was in neutral, tried again and it made a loud clunking noise, but went in, and hasnt done that since either. any ideas/suggestions??????????????
cheers

Wish i could help but i don't know much about clutches.. well i know the basics. Only thing i can think of is the pads tearing/comming lose a bit and causing the grinding sound. Definatly some thing you want to check out Asap.

Is your clutch cable or hydrolic?I

If its cable u might have it to tight and relase bearing is sitting on the clutch fingers all the time and will wear the relaese bearing out and it will make a grinding noise.

But if its hydrolic their self adjusting so it anint that

your thrust 'throw out' bearing should have been replaced when your clutch got replaced it comes with the clutch kit along with the clutch plate and pressure plate.

the only thing that does not come is the spigot bearing but if the gearbox is out you might as well replace it it's about $20.00
