Walbro 255hp + stock reg?
« on: May 28, 2010, 10:55AM »

Title says it. Are there any known issues using the stock fuel pressure regulator with the Walbro high pressure?

Sounds strange mate...i'm going to use my walbro as a lift pump then a couple of big pumps for feeding the rail when it's running E85.

were you going to use a couple of 909's ? cause 2x 044 is a lot of fuel its 2x300 lph, the 909 will give you 2x165 lph one is about 180 and the other is 270 seems like a lot of cost for what you needs 1 x 044 will feed a 600 hp V8

E85 needs to 30% more fuel volume mate, remeber when this is done the car will be running 4 x 1000cc/min injectors, potentially with two stage injection later on (350cc/min primaries and the 1000's as secondaries).
Return will go back to the surge tank and overflow from that back into the stock tank. The surge tank should never be empty! (I can work out the mass flow rates, but I CBF'd at the moment)
I will probably run 1 044 to start, but i'll be fabricating the surge tank, mounts and plumbing to run 2.

E85 is actually closer  to 40% according to our dyno tests here at uni, so more flow the merrier Adam  ;D

FSAE rules dictate that E85 attracts a 40% offset due to the increased fuel use anyway!

so does that mean that 40% more fuel would be used with E85?
