Parceling Question
« on: Dec 7, 2003, 08:27PM »
My stereo setup in my car in stock as a rock... I want to make a parcel shelf and i dunno where to start...

I still have the original template of the rear shelf from my written off trx, would this help in designing the shelf to fit 6x9" etc.. Does the wiring have to be pulled..

Oh, and also wat thickness d'you recommend the shelf to be.. I had in mind a 12mm mdf panel...
traction kicked in yo!

12mm should be ok to make a parcel shelf. and yeah your old shelf would make a good template for making the new one. A jigsaw makes a lot easier. as for designing holes for 6x9s, make mock up ones in ur original shelf so the speaker magnet fits into the holes in the chassis. then just use that again as a template.
wiring shouldnt be a problem, run them out into the boot.

Hope it all goes well!
