Hey guys, bought this car from a guy in melbourne and got it trucked over here... it's nice!

it's an automatic 1994 series 2 Attesa with a blacktop sr20det.

here are a few crappy pics that i took after de-bugging the windscreen (litteraly)




Now i think it has a boost leak or something (hoping you guys can help me out here) because it doesn't feel like it hits full boost until well over 3000rpm, closer to 4000rpm. I'm yet to install a boost gauge so i can't be 100% but it is very laggy, so any ideas? or is this normal for the auto's?

mate, i've seen that run on the dyno... at Teknik tuning in melbourne.  Not at the last melb dyno day but the one before.

Pulled 94kw @ all four?  100% stock I think.

Block-tops are good.  Was it trucked over or driven over.

trucked :)

yeh it's still 100% stock... not even a boost gauge :o

I'm totally new to the whole turbo motor thing, so exspect a few questions when i start playing around under there.

Black and white U13 ATTESAs in WA!   ;D

100% stock, so get some Whiteline stuff in there quicksmart. I've heard the U13 ride is pretty soft and wallowy (is that even a word?).

It should be on boost just before 3000rpm.... (i think)

Check the that EVERYTHING is tight.  All vacum lines, the front mount piping joiners are known to come loose over time on the HNU13's.

4000rpm then boost, from a T25G.... is not normal.

Thats the one budgie :) - that would be on the stock 7psi boost aswell

Hopefully that figure will be quite a bit larger in the near future.

I'll have to wait until monday to see whats happening with my boost (when i get my gauge) but i'll check all the connections etc. tomorrow

yeah, john looked after that car pretty well.

have you done a good service on it?? eg: change the oil and filter, fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, check the resistance of the leads, reset the ECU. have a look over the vacuum lines while your at it. and if that doesnt sort it out then there is something more sinister

good pick up though he was selling it for cheap with reasonable km's on the clock

Yer, it's got 155 000kms on the clock and i paid $6800 for it

it's had the 150km service and just before it was sent over john changed the oil/filter.
I'll be getting new spark plugs and leads next week and i'm about to go check all the vacume lines/front mount connecters etc.

Dean... shipping was $1100 from melbourne to perth through a company called JJ car transporters (they go exclusively between perth/melbourne). TNT could do it for $1084 but said there could be a 1-8 week wait. JJ did it in 4 days :)

Shit, all the trucks must have been going the other way from Perth back to Melbourne.

My car was under $400 ship from perth to TNT's depot in melbourne.

I hope you trace the boost issues mate, as something is not right.

Yeh Budge, thats quite right unfortunately for me :(

Anyway, I (EDIT: rathies) installed my first performance mod today - I think it's good for atleast a 30kw increase atw ;D

You boost issue could be:

Boost leaks
Exhaust manifold cracks/leaks
Turbo cracks/cleaks
wastegate not performing correctly

Did the car come from Berwick?  If so, I drove it before I bought mine and it was down on power.  I don't have any suggestions as to the cause.  It did handle very well and it's a great colour.

I also seem to remember hearing a clunk or 2 under the car, so I'd have the tail shaft / LSD checked out while you're at it.

Congrats on the price, you did well.
