Redline?
« on: Sep 9, 2005, 07:21PM »
Hey all... gonna take my car to the track as you may have read about in my Wakefield post in the NSW forums. Anyway, to the point, I was wondering if any of you wise members could give me some info about the redline in my TRX. At the moment it's at 6000 rpm right? (Stock redline?) Some modifications have been done to my car including:

2.5" Cat Back Exhaust
Noss' Stage 2 Camshaft
Noss' Stage 3 Performance Chip
Port & Polish

So my question is what rpm has my redline changed to? I think Noss' wrote in his chips thread that the redline from the stage 3 chip is increased by about 500rpm? edit: re-reading Noss' thread on his ka24 chips the stage three takes the redline to 7000rpm.

Thanks all,

- Complexity.

Stock ecu the limiter is at 6500, the stage 3 chip is programmed for 7000rpm cutoff.

edit:
Remember however, that peak power might drop off at around 6500 even with the addition of your cam, so it might not be worth going all the way to 7000 anyway.

Isnt the dead stock power limit for the TRX 5200? The redline is 6500 but the peak power is 5200 isnt it?

Peak power might be lower than 6500.  But when I tried the 1/4 mile aiming at shifting gears in the 5000's, I got a bad time.  My best times have been when I shift just before the rev limiter cuts in around 6500.

I made peak power at 5900, so i dropped my limiter back to 6200rpm (in the ecu rom).
