adelaide clutch - hi-po cluthces
« on: Jul 3, 2003, 04:10PM »
i have just been speaking to brendan & simon at adelaide clutch (in adelaide of course) who do high performance clutches for most popular (and not so popular) models of car. they have a few items available for all pintaras that some of you might be interested in..

ka24e clutch kits

ka24e heavy duty kit
ka24e 4 & 6 puck kit
ka243 multi-button kit

ka24e chro-moly fly wheel

ka24e chro-moly fly custom wheel

ca20e clutch kits

ca20e standard clutch
ca20e heavy duty kit
ca20e 4 & 6 puck kit

sr20de(t) clutch kits (except gtir)

sr20 heavy duty clutch kit
sr20 4 & 6 puck clutch kit

all these clutch kits increase clamping force by 50% the most streetable of these clutches being the heavy duty & multi-button items. apparently multi-button is a solid plate with multiple buttons.. beats me :P

adelaide clutch will be unleashing their new website within the next month, and when it is online, the url will be http://www.xclutch.com.au and if you go there now there is a little teaser graphic there for you.

talk to brendan or simon at adelaide clutch and let them know that your from antrx.com and you love their work.. and maybe they'll be able to strike up a deal with you :D

ok, got my car last nite, the clutch is good, real good. it engages quickly and isnt too hard to work.. take offs seem much quicker now & the car seems to be getting much more power to the ground (probably just due to the fact that this clutch doesnt slip)

as for the old clutch.. well, lets just say that all that was left of it was a flimsy metal disc and some very tired springs.

noss is that clutch with sprung pads on the friction plate?
I just bought a clutch from ACS (not for a KA24E) and it is a 5 puck unsprung centre with the heavier pressure plate. I am expecting it to be difficult on the street but no way will it slip :)

ACS are great at customer service. It's not the first time I've bought clutches from them but every time they are great.

No, but it looks as though i'll be using one of their 6 puck clutches in the new motor and possibly one of the chromoly flywheels.

Get this guys....i installed a heavy duty PBR clutch about 2 years ago....After a master and slave clutch cylinder about 2weeks ago i was driving to work this morning and crunching gears bigtime. by the time i got to work it wasnt engaging one bit. 2 sets of traffic lights and stuck in second gear bunny hopping all over the road. i took it to the mechanics and he tells me the clutch is gone......Now i would expect driving a heavy duty clutch the way it should be wouldnt hurt it but such a short life out of it really stinks......im waiting on a price for a replacement........just be careful of PBR if u treat them rough they wont last long....... >:(
