New exhaust!
« on: Feb 12, 2003, 02:24PM »
haha finally got my exhaust done yesterday !...looks + sounds and makes the car go great. Stainless extractors, new 51 mm piping, cat, and stainless quiet muffler with oval tip.  definately more power esp lower down. Sound is deep ...and is non existant when just cruising (which i am glad off...cant stand droning exhausts) makes a nice deep sound as u speed away hehe.

negatives (hotter engine bay - extractors) .....definately need the cai now.

anyway im pretty chuffed! ;D

I`m glad to see you went for a stainless exhaust over a mild steel item.  The whole exhaust is stainless isn`t it?

Stainless exhaust systems will last around 3 times longer than a mild steel item as they are resistant against rust forming substances such as condensation.  Which believe me when i say happens EVERY single day you start your car.  Ever wondered what that stuff was that came out your exhausts first thing in the morning?
What is the point of a signature, who REALLY reads it??

they will get a rainbow looking section to them from the heat, but they should still be shiny

No extractors are pure stainless steel... it's a blend of stainless and some other crap.  Note: Stainless steel cannot hold a magnet, however stainless extractors will...  That's why they don't look nice and shiny  ;)
