Am looking around at the moment for some audio gear for my soon-to-be daily trx, and came across the Soundstream XTC.6's for about $160.
Anyone running these splits? Good? Bad? Recommend something else?
I'll be running them off a jaycar 4x50wrms amp to start, until i can grab a 4 ch amp that will do 4x100wrms to make the most of them (they are rated at 110wrms at 4 ohms from memory? but have a 3 ohm system impedance)
Cheers :)

I'm running Diamond audio splits for about 2 years now. It's probably around your price range too. Pretty good, no complains. :)

In a U13 wicked? Size?
Tweeters in the SSS A pillar location?

I dont have these exact splits, but i have the set below them, and a set above them, and cannot argue with either. I swear by them, they are absolute gold for the price you pay. Never had anyone complain about them, when they are tuned right of course! im pumping 75wRMS through mine, and they love it. They could handle more, if i could afford it.

are you talking about the xsc.6? i've never heard of xtc. I used to have the xsc.6, they are crisp but the tweeter is very bright imo.
Great value for money just be weary of how high you mount the tweeter, i had to move mine from the pillar to the door just so i didn't go deaf.

nah there are both xsc and xtc. the xtc speakers are the XSeries available at the moment, Xsc was a series from previous years i believe.

have a listen if you can i guess. theres bound to be a shop that sells them somewhere. but in short yes i was impressed with my last set of soundstreams for the price.

U13 LX, no tweeters mounting. Tweeters are mounted on the edge of the front windows (the black plastic, triangle bit). Too much trouble to run additional cables to the A pillar. Enough trouble running larger power cables to the woofer already. :)
Another thing, with 6" splits on the front door, the door will rattle. Good sound deadening will solve that and improve mid bass too. Budget for the sound deadening. :)
