the common way is self tappers.

but be warned. with a heavier underside boot when u go to close it (as u normally would u let go mid way through pushign it down) do it softly. Have seen one guy have wood in his boot lid so he could attach a tv to it.... slammed the boot and cracked the rear lights

I would say drill holes and put in those plastic things like you hold the TRX skirts on with.  Then screw into those.
Interested to see what you are doing... cos i dont understand just yet  :-\

just a thought... Do like the Fords do to hold in the fuse box cover (XE)

have a barbed plug so that the top (into boot) has like an arrow, and the base is a round plug with a plain slot

|->   side view, but the barb is in the middle.

the holes go where the boot rails are, and you turn them to lock them into place.

you'd have to get ones with longer shanks than Ford ones though.

Do you understand the concept? it should work, but you may need a lot of them for the weight.

Dont velcro man!! small tappers countersunk with do the trick, but remember this dude, mdf will bend due to heat or moisture. velcro with not do the trick. IMO you are better of using a masonite typr material that wont bend or you are waisting your time. I know from experience. In my old car, I made of some door frames with 4mm mdf and covered it with mirrored laminate, after a day of light sunshine it had bent out like a corn chip. go to reverse garbage in west end and get your self some masonite for like $3, if not there, any renovating seconhand kinda shop.

Why do you want MDF under your boot lid? If its to stop it vibrating why not adjust the boot lid? Undo the bolts that hold it and centre it, then adjust the lock mechanism (on the car) lower so that the lid is held tighly against the rubber seal. This stoped a lot of vibration on mine.

sharms you will find maybe that laminating the 4mm mdf, was infact the cause of the warping. not the heat or anything. coz when laminating sh*t if its raw board (not malamine, white board) and you only do one side it will make it bow.

and mattius, why 4mm, go to something a bit bigger say 12-16mm. cover it with vinyl but before you cover it counter sink some holes then cut those holes like a cross once the vinyl/velour goes on put a screw through the hole and then the vinyl/velour with like go over the top of the screw and you might be able to see the little cross but if its in all 4 corners you aint gonna notice that much...
