Eliminating Body Roll
« on: Jul 27, 2011, 11:42AM »
NEED LESS ROLL!

Suspension:
mondroe Gt Gas Struts
lowered king springs
24mm front, 20mm rear whiteline sways

not installed:
front chasis brace (bolts into firewall)
soon to have LCA Brace.

Im not exactly happy with the body roll in my corsair considering my brothers stock vtir integra besides superlow kings and strut and chasis braces has less body roll.

what other options are there for eliminating body roll in u12s ?

weight reduction?
Will camber change bodyroll at all or just the grip during the body roll?

Look up HNU12 rear strut brace.. You can still buy them ;-)
Ill fight you. May even throw a bar of soap your way. Maybe a few wax strips and some clip on brembo brake calipers for your fooly sic civic.

I'm not convinced on the need for rear strut brace, on a sedan at least. It's got plenty of meat back there with the parcel shelf and the rear seat arch, so I personally don't think you will notice it on a u12. If you had a hatchback I'd be all for it.

that one listed is for the AWD. do they have the same rear setup as FWD?
the words "race car" spelled backward still spell "race car"?

I think maxima sway bars are hollow, whiteline are solid. So I'm not sure which is the better option.

you not convinced a rear brace will do much on ya family saloon but are happy to compare it to an integra. are ya racing it? if so fit coilovers and 600pound front springs, if not don't worry about it, it's a saloon.

sometimes just pumping up ya tires will help.

Wether or not the rear strut brace does much, it will still do something if it's there.

Man...

Having come from both cars, my old U12 and my current DC2, you can't compare them...

The suspension geometry/chassis stiffness of the DC2 is miles ahead of the U12... I daresay the spring rates for the integra would be higher as well.

If you want your car to handle better, bar it up as much as you can (I saw a post up earlier about 30mm solid vs hollow, the hollow bar will be better) then go see a suspension shop and get them to make custom springs for you with stiffer rear springs than the front. DO IT - don't listen to the general "more weight in the front" mentality - half of them have never had the arse hanging out in a FWD car in their life, you want the car to rotate instead of understeer like a pig, just use the throttle to control the tail end and if it does come out.. DON'T LIFT.

Weight matters to an extent, but I tend to disagree.. it all depends where your CG is acting and in a U12, i suspect it wouldn't be too bad once you lower the car appropriately.

^^ this is why I like this guy.

But I guess it shouldnt be too bad once I add a rear strut brace, front chasis brace and LCA brace to my list....

Might also fuck off my Monroe struts and get some kybs....

Stiffening the chassis will help but you need to have the right bars/spring-shock combo as well.

How are the condition of your shock/springs? You know... you can buy koni shocks and eibach springs for the U12 easily, you might not have adjustable height, but if someone is willing to pay a shop to weld on a perch for the spring to be adjusted, your laughing.

Buy koni shocks for your car and buy the ground control kit.

I'm SURE there has to be one for the "stanza" in the US. The Eibach springs that come in the kit are very very easy to find, for example, you can swap them for a set of springs out of a V8 supercar. They are all over summitracing for $60 a pair of springs. In many many spring rates.

I'm running 600lb front/900lb rears.

Also have just eibach springs, however they dont say what car they are for etc, just say 2.25" and 2.5" springs with mumbo jumbo numbers such as 0.600.250.0600

lol...what do you think the 250 means in that number?

I don't know if they fit, email them and ask. I wasn't educated back then to make a smart decision, I just "made do" with [language filter smackdown]got king springs that sag after 3 months.

Correct me if I'm wrong (I sent an email off asking about this to confirm), but it seems like;

The first number is width, the second is height, the third is spring strength (in total lbs?).

WTF is the width of our stock springs? :B

First is length, second is diameter, third is stiffness in pounds.

It's big, and pointless.

All you need to do is email one of the guys that sell GC kits and ask them what they have for a U12 stanza
