MOD LAWS
« on: Apr 10, 2013, 11:05AM »
I have attached a link to the
National Code of Practice for Light Vehicle Construction and Modification.

These are the guidlelines for the modification of cars here in Australia. It makes for some interesting reading prior to doing some of the mods you want to do and is now what ALL states in Australia are using for the modifcation and engineering of motorvehicles.

Still abit confused in this department. Can someone here just tell me straight up what I need to do in QLD once the mod plates are phased out ? In order to get my brakes and seats legal ? They abide by all rules and regulations and should deff pass the tests.

You just have to get them engineered. The process will still be the same.

My understanding is there will still be mod plates, however the laws that govern it will become national not state.

Mod plates will not be phased out. The current QLD code of practice they are issued under will become null and void. They will now be issued under a national code of practice, so all states will have the same mod laws. The same people that were able to issue mod plates will still be able to do it as long as they comply with the new code of practice.
