interior lighting?
« on: Sep 7, 2008, 07:49PM »
ok guys, i have the interior light (the one on the roof) set to "door" so when a door is open the light is on... as soon as i shut the door the light goes off, i was wondering if there is a way i can set it so the light doesnt go off for another say 20 seconds or until the motor starts up?

You need to get a timed relay to get that to work. Or just dont shut your door till your finished with the light  :P

grab a super small capacitor, it will charge when the door is open, and then dissipate into the bulb once the door is closed.

A cap will not work. Anything a reasonable size is far too low a capacity to keep a light burning for more than a few milliseconds.

Get a timed relay.

yah, thanks jono i'd asked my electronics teacher at school and he said the exact same thing, so i'll be looking into a timed relay in the very near future
