Hey all,
This year I'm Planning to start and hopefully finish modifying my Pintara Gli to the way I want it. It has the Ca20e which I've heard good and bad about, but wanna do something different to the norm. I don't have a budget, whic would be a good place to start but for now I'm still asking questions :p

In the way of engine mods, considerations included:
-Stroke it to 2.2L
-2.5" exhaust, high flow cat ending in a Varex muffler
-Pistons (1mm oversize hypereutectic pistons)
-Port and polish
-3 angle grind job
-Bigger cam
-Noss's style CAI
-Lightened flywheel

Would problems should I expect to run into from the list above?
Is there a modification there that would need a supporting mod that I havnt included?
Can anyone give me a guess-timate of how much it will cost?

If you're going to stroke it, why use hyperelutic pistons ? Jump straight to high comp forged if keeping it n/a or standard forged for turbo... Also extensive bottom end balancing.

HD clutch to match fly
Cosmetic head gasket
I assume you mean 3 angle valve job ? In that case, in use with the bigger cam, go stiffer valve springs and swirl polished valves ?

Deff should need a retune so aftermarket ecu and will deff need a bigger maf if you are pumping the power through.

Hahaha thats why I posted in the noob zone, High compression forged pistons sounds good. Its staying N/A  :P

Do you know what ECU would work? And Just a J30 Maf or something there abouts?

Cheers

Nistune may do a retunable daughter board but im not too sure.

not sure on the potential of a ca20 but a J30 maf may not have a high enough HP rating, better be safe and go 80mm 500hp Z32 or 90mm ??? Q45 Maf.

The J30 maf is good for 300 hp or about 220ish kw.

You would only need a z32 maf if your going if your planing on over 220kw and up to about 370ish kw.

Don't need to spend excessive cash if you don't need to.

I wasnt too sure on the potential of a ca20 with all those mods, so obviously will be under 220kw so go for a j30 maf, i have a spare if you are keen, no plug though...

Keen indeed. What plug are you talking about? The one fits directly into the
Maf?

Done a bit of looking around.. Found about 2K worth of mods will get me the approx equivalent of a stock KA24e. Fark. See why people don't work on this much.. Now looking at either a 18DE head conversion (Anyone got pointers about that?) Or just a straight Ka Conversion. It's a bit to think about and how far dad will let me go on my P's  :-\
