Title: Oil filter inner tube bit/thing k24
Post by: Low_rb on Oct 9, 2011, 06:29PM
Hey guys,
Just done a oil change on this corsair i have to maintain. My filter wrench broke so i done the old screwdriver trick not realiseing that there was a tube inside and bent it,causeing it to loosen and fall out.
How important is this bit does anyone know? i cant see that it does a whole lot aside from making sure the oil circulates at the end of the filter and no other car ive ever owned has had this part.
Ive managed to beat it back to some extent and get it jammed back in its hole and the filter went on no probs and ill be heading down to nissan tomorrow morn to try and get a new one. So does any one know if it will be alright to drive for a bit if i have to wait for one to be sent up?

Cheers
