Hallelujah..
« on: Sep 29, 2011, 03:59PM »
So it's been about two months since i got the pintara to my house;
No rego or rwc and beforehand was sitting in the same spot for about 18months. Got a mobile mechanic out (who was quite frankly sh >:( t) and got him to service it before starting in case he wanted to change oils or whatever over. He pointed out some problems that needed fixing: brake pads, steering rack boots and cv boots - quoted $1300 to do the lot.. so i did it with dad  :P

Only the other day we fixed that up, took it down to the mechanics to get a safety inspection done and they picked up; the gearstick popped out of the socket and was sitting on top of the heat cover for the exhaust, the bushes in the gear selector rod were.. gone, the drive belt for the water pump needed replacing, and the tyres on the back needed replacing..

But a couple days later and a total of a bit under 2 grand (including the mobile moron) its all good and now on the road.

Now its just time to start buying stuff haha  ;D

Mate, the CA20E is an old motor, but I always good great fuel economy in my first car (was a Corsair).

They are cheap to run, cheap to fix and easy enough to work on. Can't go wrong for a first car I reckon.
dont piss me off with your pillarless shit captain snappy wrist

Thanks :D
I was thinking about just the standard trx kit for it, but they're pretty rare these days so i might just paint the bumpers white (pretty fond of the stock shape anyway). A few plans for it are; chrome door handles, king springs (low/superlow), Monroe shocks, tint the windows, 2.25" exhaust system (including extractors which are in the boot atm) ending in a Varex muffler (made a topic about these but after hearing dad's today.. I'm defiantly going for one), either Noss's style CAI or a pod with heat shield.. and the hardest decision yet.. rims  :P  ???
It's a toss up between:

XXR 502' High End Tuning (17x7 +40) [Colour - Chromium black]

XXR 002 Old School Flavor (16x7 +38) [Colour - Black]

Yeah the Gold on white looks pretty fine, otherwise paint/powdercoating them white will work. White on white always looks the goods too 8)
