i dont know if this has been mentioned or not, but i had to find these brake pads last weekend, a lot of people say they're maxima pads but they have to be modified.. they are in fact maxima pads, but they dont need to be modified.. for anyone that is after these pads, the bendix advance part number is DB1308
cheers

not so true........two different maxima pads are commonly used, one a slightly smaller pad that goes straight in (which you've used), and another that has a bigger surface area but needs a couple of tiny bits grinded off.

the caliper, or the pad into the aussie-spec caliper?
no idea on the pad itself, but the caliper SHOULD bolt on no problem (however dunno what the deal is with the disc)
do the calipers bolt to the car via 19mm or 17mm headed bolts? not that it's any certainty, but i've found that all the nissans with 19mm have interchangable calipers, and same with all those with 17mm. so if it's 19mm and the import u13 calipers bolt on, that means that z32/r32/s14 etc ones will also (but they give HEAPS less wheel clearance, so can be a big issue).

17mm Phreeky. Same as the U12's.
I'm actually surprised the pulsar guys have not cottened onto using U12 brakes on their under-braked N13's and N14's...

Basically I want to upgrade the brakes. So if they're 17mm will the pad and caliper fit? or just the pad?

ok, to explain a little, the local brakes are single piston calipers, the import brakes are twin piston. the discs are the same size as far as i'm aware.
the pads are not interchangeable between the two different types of calipers, they are physically different sizes, the twin piston pads are about 25mm longer from memory.
so to use the pads that myself an kotter mentioned, you need to have the twin piston calipers.. it is impossible to use these pads on the local models calipers.
i'd assume the import calipers would be a direct bolt on upgrade, they were a direct bolt on upgrade for my pintara.

Bit of a late reply but yep, the front discs on the AUS U13 are the same size as the JAP U13 (280mm). So yeah, it should be a direct bolt on upgrade, i'm trying to source some at the moment.

Yes Bendix 1308 pads are the correct ones for the U13 Attesa 4 pot calipers. However, do not buy the standard non bedding in pads with the teflon they just dont bite, get the bendix ones you have to bed in

some brake pad places will put any compound on for you, just supply them with old pads so they can reuse the old backing plates

nuh he didnt say, I emailed him again then he yelled at me again with the caps and said its best to call them, little does he know by the time i get home and call him it'll be 7pm his time, bloody easterners Everyone else Ive spoke to regarding EBC green stuff pads, these seem to be the only performance ones we have, said its a 2 week wait as they have to be shipped from UK, So it looks like I'm gonna get EBC blacks (which are in stock) and order the greens for track use.

OK I've finally finished scouring the net for more pads, Found out endless do a set listed under the non-turbo c34 laurel and all the c35's. plus R33 non-turbos Skylines http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Car-parts-accessories/Performance/Other/auction-31275734.htm$40 Aus, bargain, pity they arent listed anymore edit Just bought ebc blacks for $210, Wont get the greens for a week though as they are being shipped from UK. also note that lucas do a cheap pad for our cars too GD3124 - $95 GDB3065M - $50 grrr If the dick head at the shop had of told me earlier I wouldnt have bought the blacks.

Just on the rear pads, when mine were replaced they matched them to the Maxima pads as they said the local ones didn't fit. Not sure of the part number but made by Lucas. Cheers Sean

i was told by a few people i'd have to send old backing plates away to get new material put on, and would take a few weeks.
i've just got bendix advance on at the moment, i used them at the sprints once (tight track, also used for go karting, only get a touch over 100km/h) - first time out i was braking a bit too much and i managed to get some smoke off them, after that though had no problems, they'd be way more than capable for road use.
what sort of track work you looking at?
p.s. put fresh fluid in!

Track = Wakefield Park, which is quiet hard on the breaks apparently. Thats why I want track pads rather than street pads. I cant realy send my backing platesaway because I need pads for the street aswell.

bringing this back up from the dead. I've been using so far ENDLESS EP298 in the SSS compound which have been very good (on the street however). As I've been getting these from japan, have been looking for something more local I had ordered some EBC front and rear pads. I ordered N/A R33 pads, but got totally different ones (for some reason they have diff pads listed for the same car). as mentioned above the correct part no. is DP1046 but this seems to only be avail in blackstuff. I'll update once I find alternatives. I've already got the bigger ones installed didnt even hack away at them, just wedged in fine Theres just no performance pads for our car though, all the ones listed are just standard ones. Marty did you just put the larger DP21082 pads straight in without grinding them? did this leave overhang of the pad?

originally I just wedged them in, but then got my hands on a grinder and did it the proper way. they didn't need a lot of grinding, like a few mm.
