i was wondering if this performance modding timetable would be good to follow or if there is any bad points or modding types in it.

U13 96' bluebird lx.

first mod: cold air intake, done
second mod: timing advance, 98 ron fuel change, done
third:semi-synthetic engine oil, fully synthetic tranny oil changeover
forth:antrx stage 3 performance chip installed.(is this the right chip to get?)
fifth:2.5" mandrel bent exhaust, matching 2.5" cat from old car(?),extractors(big maybe). (is this the right size)

thats it for the performace upgrades i think unless u suggest another average cost/mild gain mod.

I think that's great.

The KA24DE has a relatively long stroke, has plenty of torque and makes the most power at about 5.5K RPM. If you are after top end power, since you are thinking about the stage 3 chip, why not add a CAM too?

As for exhaust size, Noss suggested the use of 2.5" piping and Noss has got a thread on the suitable mods for a stage 3 chip (KA24E), somewhere.   Huh

After all these mods, you'll probably start thinking about improving the handling of the car  Grin

that seems like a healthy list of things to do, and i have a question for u..

how did the motor respond to the timing advance? its something i wish to do, so was just interested in what sort of gains u experienced by doing that, and by how much did u adjust the timing?

i upd it to 22*, and i first put 95 ron fuel in it.the gains were alright, i havnt guned the car yet but the accel was more direct i say, and my cai would help as well(night driving with it, u can feel the gain quite well). i then put 98 in it and cant say i felt a difference, maybe smother but thats prob just placebo effect. might up it to 93-4 now im using super premium just to see.

would i have to get my old cam tweaked, find a cam off a ka24e or buy an aftermarket aggresive cam.

yeah i didnt add any no performance mods in but ima get a strut brace(help under steer), lowered springs, and slotted discs with pads.

You have a KA24DE. you can't use KA24E cams, they have 12 lobes, the 2 DE cams have 8 lobes each.
