Hey all,
As some of the Vic guys will know, my U13 started to run strangely the day before yesterday (out of the blue).
When under 3000rpm in all gears under load, it would feel as if it was massively down on power and sound like its missing or running on only 3 cylinders.
Its fine when cold, but after 5mins or so, once warmed up the misfires occurs. If I push it a bit harder, say past 3,000rpm in 2nd when accelerating its will 'come good' after that point and power kicks in like its got a turbo and feels totally normal, then change up into 3rd and be under say 3k and it bogs down and miss-fires again!
Its also fine when at a cruising speed, at a low throttle opening .... say 100kmph in 5th, no sign of any issues, but once you hit a steeper hill and put your foot down a bit, it will miss a little until you back off again.
Now, I'm yet to check anything really. I have taken the dist cap off and cleaned the rotor and connections inside the cap and that didn't do anything, plus it was squeaky inside there. Also, the distributor is not leaking a drop of oil (the car does not have any oil leak to speak off actually!).
I'm thinking maybe airflow meter or something fueling related...
Ideas guys?

Right...
Number 2 plug lead was cracked where it sits down inside the head, between the two cams (nice and snug, and also nice and hot!) Not the lead itself, but its solid plastic casing. Well, they are original nissan leads it seems, so 144,500km is good!!
Replaced with a set of NGK's for $99 from Burson's in West Heidelberg.

Glad it wasnt anything too nasty... although $100 for leads is a fair bit, are they performance at all or just expensive because they have the plastic shaft?

expensive because of the long plastic shaft mate, with the seal on the top and all 4 are different lengths.
$99 is cheap, everywhere else wanted $130+ !!

Question still stands! Seeing as that site caters to the SR conversion crowd quite a lot, probably the HNU13 SR's I reckon.
