the n14 strut tower bars fit the u12. you may need to force the plates over the strut towers a little, either that or just drill out the holes a smidge so  they fit nicely over the bolts. but yes, will only work in u12's with ca18, ca20, sr20 or ka24de.

if you have a ka24e then you need the plates from the n14 and  the bar from a late 90's wrx.

You can apparently fit the s13 braces if you file a couple of holes out a bit bigger.

You have to be careful which hole/s need to be enlarged. You don't want to run into the problem of having a "sloppy" brace that is only secured laterally by the compressive forces on the bracket from the strut tower nut. If this happens, the grip on the nut to the bracket can slip and you may not be getting the full effect of the lateral rigidity the brace is supposed to provide.

I've managed to test fit a S13 brace to a R31. Had to remove the locknuts and wind the adjusters right in though

slightly off topic but, for that price, how much modification needed to fit onto a u13 ka24de?

i think the strut tops are the same so i'd say it'll be pretty close
i'll try it on my u13 wreck & take some pix ..& i'll see if one of my mates can come around for a trial fit on his r31 too

shouldn't be long now!

I've managed to test fit a S13 brace to a R31. Had to remove the locknuts and wind the adjusters right in though

So is it basically taking the undoing the nuts and taking them off ? , and the adjusters right in ?? is it really worth it ?as in doing that and adjusting it right in , does it still like work as a normal strut brace would ? or are the effects lessened ? ?

Also, sorry to hijack again, but im looking at trying to stop a bit of understeer and having the rear end a bit more stable, it's a rwd 31, ive already got wider wheels + tires, heavy springs + good shocks. and i know that helped 100% but i still have those 2 problems, i'm thinking a bigger front swaybar and chuck on a strut brace ?? or should i be stiffening the rear up just enough to get rid of a bit of understeer but also to keep the rear stable / ?? ? ?

did that make sense lol  ? ?

ok update

the 2 outer holes are not far off bar the inner hole (closest to the engine) is a fair bit off

you could possibly drill/file out the holes & use big washers but i've decided to fill in the holes (weld) & redrill to suit the u12 towers

forgot to add, it's the same story with the U13, outer 2 are close but the 1 inner is way off
